What is Sin?

Is watching pornography sin? Is it a bad thing to do?

Is lying a sin? Is that a bad thing to do?

Is having sex with the same gender a sin? Is that a bad thing to do?

Is killing people a sin? Is that a bad thing to do?

Is using God’s name in vain a sin? Is that a bad thing to do?

Pornography cannot be a sin right? I mean it doesn’t hurt anyone. Especially if I do it in a room where I live by myself right? And plus if it’s not illegal it can’t be that bad? I’m not hurting or affecting anyone close to me. I know I wouldn’t want my parents to know about it, and it’s not like I’m doing anything wrong. Plus, everybody does it. But God says it’s a sin. God also says its very bad.

Lying cannot be a sin right? I mean I know when I lie it can get confusing. But sometimes it is better to lie then tell the truth. They do not need to know anything about me, and I really do not have to explain myself to people. Plus, everybody does it. But God says it’s a sin. God also says its very bad.

Homosexual acts cannot be a sin right? I mean if I’m with someone I love, I should be open with them, and if they are okay with it, then I’m not hurting them nor anyone else. I should have the freedom to love and have sexual relationships with anyone. Doesn’t the Bible say to love everyone, yet I cannot love the way I want to everyone. That seems wrong. Plus, most people agree that people should have the right to do whatever they want, as long as they aren’t offending anyone. But God says it’s a sin. God also says its very bad.

Killing people cannot be a sin right? Well, honestly I think that one should be a sin. Ending a person’s life is wrong, as that one does affect other people. Yet why do we have capital punishment. Doesn’t God approve of war when needed? Is abortion the same as killing people? Is killing a person who is guilty the same as killing some whose innocent?  But God says murder is a sin and killing is not a sin. God also says murder is very bad.

Oh My God, we made it to the end…Holy Cow, that was long. Like JESUS CHRIST, that was so long, I swear to GOD if this last one is a sin… I mean using God’s name in vain cannot be a sin right? It rolls of the tongue so well. Everybody says these comments. Plus it’s just a name. It ain’t hurting anyone and I’m not offending anyone while using it. But God says it’s a sin. God also says its very bad.

*SIGH* Well yeah. In my opinion, these are all obviously sins…lol. Can you be a good person and continue to sin?

Person A: Well yeah, I don’t think those things are necessarily bad, so I think I am a good person.

Person B: Well I think most of those are bad, but like I don’t really care for homosexuality, and honestly, I don’t believe in a God, so using his name is just another word to me, so I still think I’m a good person.

ME: I think those are all sins. I do believe in a God, and if God says DONT DO IT….you should NOT DO IT. The fact you 2 guys think those are okay, means you are not a good person. I’m not a good person too, but I’m working on it. I learned that the Bible helps us understand who God is and how much he loves us. But he HATES when we sin. He HATES when Humans disobey him, especially since he knows that SIN leads to DEATH. He gave us scripture so we may learn how to walk from DEATH and into LIFE.
